A company aiming to commercialise natural medicines is moving to a historic stable block, dating from 1670, on Lord Rotherwick's Cornbury Park Estate at Charlbury.
Oxford Natural Products, formerly in St Giles, has taken a ten-year lease at an annual rental of £17.50 a sq ft, according to agents FPD Savills.
The Deer Park stable block, at the end of a long chestnut-tree lined main approach to the estate, was designed by 17th-century architect Hugh May. It was sympathetically restored by local craftsmen and converted into 10,100 sq ft of offices.
There are three floors with a double-height reception area and galleried staircase. There is extra second-floor space in the pavilions at either end of the stable block.
Lord Rotherwick has converted several complexes on his estate, including four barns at Manor Farm Barns, Finstock.
The first two Manor Farm units, totalling 2,165 sq ft, have been let to MedPharma, expanding from Southill on the estate, on a six-year lease at £16 a sq ft. The two remaining units of 1,300 sq ft and 3,000 sq ft are still available, said FPD Savills.
