Banbury United have launched an appeal against the Football Association's decision to call off tomorrow's first qualifying round tie with Wealdstone.
It has been alleged striker Ben Milner was banned when he played against Ware in the 4-0 preliminary round win.
It's believed Milner, who played for Brackley Town, last season picked up a suspension for an accumulation of bookings at the end of the cam- paign.
On Monday, player-boss Kevin Brock and secretary Barry Worsley will travel to FA headquarters in Lancaster Gate to fight the charge.
If the special Challenge Cup sub-committee rules against them the club will miss out on the chance of winning a handy £7,500 - the money they would have got for beating Wealdstone - plus their share of the gate.
Brock said: "First and foremost, it might mean we get kicked out of the FA Cup. We had to fork out an awful lot of money on the pitch and we could have done with that money.
"I'm not angry, I'm just frustrated. We were preparing ourselves for this very important cup tie when Barry phoned me to say what had happened. We were expecting a crowd of more than 400."
If Banbury win the appeal the game will be played on Wednesday.
But Brock is not optimistic. "It's down to us. But if Ben didn't know about it and we didn't know about it there is not a lot we can do."
