New boys Burford United went top of Division 1 thanks to a second-half hat-trick from Simon Gibbs which sealed a 4-1 win at Abingdon's Brewery Tap FC, writes Mick Day.

Brewery Tap's goal came from Stuart Tofte.

Elsewhere in Division 1, East Hendred moved into third place with a 2-0 win against Brightwell, Kieron Day and Glyn Evans scoring.

Division 2 leaders AFC Crowmarsh triumphed 5-2 at Didcot Labour Club, with Matt Simpson hitting a hat-trick. Craig Fisher and Paul Hooper were also on target, while David Galliford and Steve Warden replied.

In Division 3A, leaders Medisense made it 20 goals in three games with an 11-0 thrashing of Bampton Horseshoes.

Their marksmen were Simon Ward (3), Ian Beachey (2), Danny Parry (2), Ben Parry (2), Gordon Sanghera and Steve Bayliss.

There were no surprises in the Devenney Cup first round, with all of the top flight sides going through comfortably.

Wantage outfit Blue Boar beat Chilton Casuals 13-2, with strikes from Wayne Hogan (4), Chris Roche (4), Chris Whitworth (2), Danny Pearce, James Buchanan and Shaun Hogan.

Olly Carter and Rob Taylor replied for Casuals.

Lee Kogel grabbed five goals as Saxton Rovers thumped General Elliott FC 11-5, with other goals coming from James Clark (2), Matty Shelton (2), Andy Shaw and James Hawthorne.

Athletico Indaline beat The White Hart 6-2 thanks to a four-timer from Chris Cording and other strikes from Dean Godwin and Stuart Dunham.

Athletico will entertain Oxford Instruments in the next round after they edged past The Stocks 6-5. Lee Brown (3), Ben Carter (2) and Paul Tompkins were on target for Instruments, with Nic Dalby (2), Stuart Baker (2), and Martin Hunt on target for Stocks.

Long Wittenham will play The Dolphin in the next round after scraping past Research Machines 3-2, with strikes from Phil Walters (2) and Tom Young. Chris Coppock and Sam Kemish replied.
