Oxford Devils lost 83-82 to National Trophy favourites Plymouth Raiders, with the winning basket coming in the last three seconds.

Taking the game to the visitors, the Devils outplayed the Devon team for most of the game and after the first period were 26-14 ahead. Outstanding shooting from Joe Milnes and Phil Alexander gave the Raiders huge problems.

Raiders picked themselves up in the second period, closing the gap to nine points at 49-40, but Devils were on top again at the start of the third quarter, with Steve Riley, Robinson Armstrong and Ashton rotating well to control the boards.

However, Plymouth's USA import Cetnar was beginning to find his range, well supported by Samuels and Wellington, as they cut the Devils' lead to 64-63.

The final period proved a real nailbiter with both teams scoring well but also making mistakes.

Plymouth went into the lead for the first time with two minutes left, only for Devils snatch it back with two baskets from Joe Milnes and two foul shots from Alexander.

Then Raiders took possession of the ball and with three seconds left, Cetnar hit a third shot to clinch victory.
