Morrells Oxford Sunday League round-up by Geoff Bower
Star Royal returned to winning ways in the Premier Division with a 6-0 thrashing of Highfield.
After taking an early lead through Luke Brandon, fine saves from Simon Pearson kept Highfield at bay before Jason Maciak, Steve Jenkins and James Green sealed victory.
Pete Higgins was quick off the mark, as his 20-yard shot gave Star Wanderers the lead against Mansfield Road after less than 20 seconds. But they had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
In Division 1, Marsh Harriers beat AFC Vikings 4-2 with goals from Darren Lucas, Nathan Ball, James Bullock and Michael Patrick. John Wiley scored both Vikings' goals.
A hat-trick from Russell Whitlock helped Star Wanderers Reserves open their Division 2 account with a 6-2 win over ten-man Barton United.
Jason Hunt, with a brace, and Mark Tyrrell were also on target. Barton responded through Mark Williams and Ryan Whitney.
Roebuck and Arncott shared the points in a 1-1 draw in Division 3.
Ex-Roebuck player Simon O'Connor opened for Arncott on the half-hour against the run of play. Roebuck fought back well with Darren Barber levelling for Roebuck.
Duke of Monmouth secured a deserved 4-1 victory over North Oxford CC Res in Division 3, despite having to wait until the second half to open the scoring with a looping header from Marek Zawillnski.
Zawillnski grabbed a second before Vijay Patel scored from outside the area, with Craig Hanlon completing the scoring for Duke. Darren Wright scored for the visitors.
Catherine Wheel ensured they kept all the points at home to Jamii with a hard-fought 4-1 win. A superb hat-trick from Rocky Whiting and Jason Llewellyn sealed the win, Donald Menga replying for Jamii.
