A bus company has reversed a decision to cut out a stop. Stagecoach Oxford wanted to miss the stop beside the A34 dual carriageway at Wendlebury to speed-up its service between Bicester and Oxford.
But residents complained through their parish council and to Bicester South county councillor Charles Shouler.
One objector, Professor Simon Bearder, of Church Lane, Wendlebury, said: "A petition with 50 to 60 signatures was being raised. The stop is used by commuters into Oxford and by young people going into Oxford for entertainment. The only other bus is a two-hourly service through the village."
Stagecoach marketing manager David Whitley said: "Very few people travel from Wendlebury to Oxford and it would therefore be fairer on the majority of our customers if buses ran non-stop between Bicester and Gosford.
"However, having discussed the matter further with both the county council and local residents, we have decided to retain the stop at this stage and will now focus on other ways in which reliability may be further improved."
