An engineer who died in a car accident played a key role in the success of Apex Motorsport, according to the team's managing director.
Matthew Hunter, 24, of Longfields Court, Bicester, was driving to work when he was killed in a collision in Skimmingdish Lane, Bicester, on Wednesday.
Mr Hunter had worked as a data acquisition engineer for Apex Motorsport, working on Bentley EXO Speed 8 race cars, one of which finished third in the Le Mans race in June.
The company's managing director, Richard Lloyd, paid tribute to Mr Hunter, saying he was a popular member of staff who played a key part in the success of the race team.
Mr Lloyd said: "He was a quiet guy, but very dedicated to his job.
"Matthew was well respected for his knowledge and ability by all who came into contact with him.
"He will be greatly missed as a friend and colleague."
Mr Hunter had been a pupil at Cooper School, Bicester, until 1993, when he left to study A-Levels at Gosford Hill School at Kidlington.
He graduated from Bristol University with a mechanical engineering degree.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
