Oxford City striker Stuart Riddle has signed for Scottish League Division 2 side Morton.
The New Zealand international, who earlier this season had trials with third division outfit Darlington, made his debut in Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Cowdenbeath.
He has signed a one year contract with an option for another year with the Scottish outfit, who are currently second from bottom of the league.
City manager Paul Lee said while they were sorry to lose Riddle, it was not a surprise that he was going.
However, Lee has received a boost after keeper Stuart Nelson decided to remain at Court Place Farm, for the time being at least.
Nelson rejected a move to second division QPR after they could offer him only a one month contract, renewable after four weeks.
Lee said: "Apparently because of their financial state they are unable to offer any long-term contracts. He was not happy with their offer and turned it down.
"But he has decided to keep on training with QPR but will play for us until they come up with an improved offer.
"It's bad news for him but good for us. I am really pleased because he will be able to play for us against Tooting and in the FA Cup on Saturday."
Also staying at City are last season's top scorer Danny Wise, and Nigel Emson after both turned down approaches to lower league clubs.
A seven day bid was tabled by Ryman League Division 3 side Abingdon Town, while Wessex League Premier division Newbury Town wanted Emson.
