Thame Utd 10, Barking & East Ham 2
HAT-tricks by Wayne Cort and Mick Swaysland helped Thame to demolish newly-promoted Barking in Ryman League Division 1 at Windmill Stadium on Tuesday.
The visitors came into the game without a league point and the only surprise was that Thame took 15 minutes to get off the mark. Visiting keeper Jason White spilled a Nando Perna corner and Swaysland slammed home the loose ball.
Cort then scored a ten-minute hat-trick to put Thame four clear after 27 minutes.
They went five ahead in the 33rd minute when young defender James Saulsbury showed real calm to net past the advancing White.
Thame replaced Cort and keeper Alan Foster at the break ahead of Saturday's FA Cup tie with Havant and Waterlooville, defender Justin Lee, taking over between the posts.
In the 49th minute Andy Williams and Mark Jones left Chris Potter with the easiest of chances from six yards to make it 6-0
The battling visitors pulled a goal back when Salmon headed home from close range in the 62nd minute.
Swaysland scored his second and third, either side of providing the cross for Rod Smith to head in No 8.
Substitute Mark Simms, who had earlier hit a post, got some reward for his hard work by taking the tally to double figures, before Dolarto headed home Barking's second in the last minute.
**Thame Utd: Foster (Lee 45), Saulsbury, Avery, Brown, Williams, Jones, Potter, Perna (West 38), Cort (Simms 45), Smith, Swaysland.
