Rothwell Tn 2, Banbury Utd 2
BANBURY recovered from conceding an early goal to earn a deserved draw in an even Dr Martens Eastern Division clash at Rothwell.
The home side went ahead after 14 minutes when Jimmy Foreman glanced the ball home at the near post
Banbury equalised in the 29th minute. Matty Gooderick turned just inside the penalty area, and hit a superb shot into the roof of the net off the underside of the bar. Just before half-time, Gooderick was unlucky to hit the bar.
The visitors deservedly took the lead in the 63rd minute.
Ben Milner took the ball up the left, and cut it back to George Redknap who hit a hard cross which Jimmy Simpson flicked past keeper Jimmy Hughes into the far corner of the net.
However, it was all square just ten minutes later when Ryan Nash lobbed the stranded Simon Tricker from 15 yards to give Rothwell a share of the points.
**Banbury: Tricker, Wallbridge, Joyce, Sullivan, Simpson, Fuller, Corbett, O'Neill (McKay 74), Milner, Gooderick, Redknap. Subs. (not used) Muckelberg, Travers.
Attendance: 189.
