Cherry Red Records Hellenic League: Round-up
Old Woodstock Tn 0, Hook Norton 2
HIGH-FLYING newcomers Hook Norton made it six wins in seven Division 1 West games with this victory.
The home side had the majority of the first half without really threatening the Hooky goal.
At the other end, Dickie Knight put over a pin-point cross which Ryan Butler headed home from three yards in the 17th minute.
The second half saw a similar pattern emerge and Hooky made it 2-0 when Knight produced another cross from the right which Gary Brock deflected into his own net after 58 minutes.
John Evans, Darren Farley and Mark Agnese starred in a resolute Hooky defence.
Chipping Norton Tn 2, Witney Academy 1
CHIPPY belied their lowly league position by defeating local rivals Witney Academy, although a serious leg injury to Justin Summers dampened the victory celebrations.
Chipping Norton led 1-0 at the break courtesy of a superb goal by Andrew Helby.
Neil Maskell levelled the scores with a fine header for Academy early in the second half, but Chippy kept their composure and a deflected Darren Mills shot saw them regain the lead.
Centre backs Richard Archer and Joe Cockroft denied the visitors further goals with a fine display.
Chippy Reserves won 1-0 at Middle Barton thanks to a late Clayton Foster strike.
Clanfield 1, Pewsey Vale 3
CLANFIELD suffered another home defeat after a poor performance against their Wiltshire visitors managed by former Swindon Town star Don Rogers.
Vale were on top right from the start but a combination of poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping by Jason Hunt restricted them to Goodwin's goal scored in the 25th minute.
Clanfield's second-half revival gave them hope, and Richard Bell equalised on 48 minutes, but defensive errors saw Pewsey Vale secure the points with goals by Stephens after 64 minutes and Adams with five minutes to go.
Kidlington 1, Malmesbury Victoria 1
LACK of fire power cost Kidlington two points against bottom club Malmesbury.
Andrew Waller put Malmesbury ahead on 84 minutes totally against the run of play before a last-gasp equaliser from Luke Holden spared Kidlington's blushes.
Headington Am 0, Winterbourne 5
AMATEURS succumbed to a third successive defeat despite a bright start which saw them have most of the first-half play.
A hat-trick from Cameron and a brace from Oakley gave Winterbourne victory.
Shrivenham 3, Ardley Utd 4
ARDLEY secured the three points four minutes into injury time of an eventful game.
Shrivenham went ahead on four minutes and although Stuart Beavon equalised, the home side made it 2-1 at half-time.
A Paul Goss screamer saw the sides level two minutes after the restart, while Ardley's third came when Shrivenham's Woodfield headed over his own keeper.
Shrivenham made it 3-3 two minutes into injury time through Peers but there was still a twist in the tail as Beavon snatched the winner.
Ross Tn 3, Middle Barton 0
MIDDLE Barton failed to end their losing streak against a talented Ross Town side.
The visitors had the better of the second half after going in 2-0 down to two goals from Billy Davis, but Richard Gunn's 89th-minute third killed them off.
