DREWE Broughton's agent says the ball is in Oxford's court as to whether the striker completes his move from Kidderminster Harriers.
A £70,000 fee has been agreed between the clubs, but Colin Gordon says it is now down to Mark Wright if the move goes ahead.
"My understanding is that Drewe wants to move, the clubs have agreed on the fee, but it is now down to Oxford to say to him 'yes, we want you'," Gordon said.
"We spoke to Oxford on Friday, and Drewe went away saying he needed to speak to (Kidderminster boss) Jan Molby before anything else could happen.
"He couldn't do that straight away because the team were up in Hartlepool, but he has done so since, and now it's up to Oxford.
"Obviously with the clubs playing each other it was a delicate situation, but if Oxford want to progress, it's up to them. The ball's in their court."
Wright admitted that the deal was not dead, but said that it would not go through in the near future.
"There is nothing happening with Broughton at this moment in time," the U's boss said.
"I'm looking at a few things but am not going to overdo it.
"I have irons in the fire but will not do anything until I have spoken with the chairman."
But Wright said that part of the reason the deal had not yet been completed was because of Gordon.
"The deal has not died. The bottom line is he came to see use and we spoke to him and the demands of people become too high," Wright said.
"The stumbling block is not with Jan Molby or Kidderminster, you have to deal with agents but I don't like it.
"An offer was put to him (Broughton) and his agent didn't accept it, yet it was a hell of a lot more than he was getting."
