Holywell, based at Osney Mead, has been in business for more than 100 years.
Chairman Peter Burrows is the grandson of the founder, Harry Burrows, who set up the company in 1890.
The design studio was launched yesterday atChrist Church picture gallery.
Managing director Ben Burrows said: "The power of print depends on its visual impact. This can only be achieved through good quality design, combined with fine quality print and finishing.
"Hence, Holywell's decision to take quality control of the design and print of its products."
Part of the premises has been refurbished to house the studio, and state-of-the-art design technology has been purchased to support the existing reprographics technology.
Mr Burrows said: "From hatching a design concept through to corporate re-branding, we can now provide continuity of strict quality control right through to hand finishing."
