A mother broke down in tears as she appealed on television for the driver who killed her son to come forward.
Jackie Elliston, of Faringdon, appeared on last night's BBC Crimewatch to help catch the driver who drove over her son, killing him.
Paul Elliston, 26, had been returning from a wedding reception in Swindon when he was hit on the A361, near the South Marston Industrial Estate. It is thought he was walking to a friend's house after he declined his parents' offer of a lift home. Last night's programme revealed Mr Elliston had been drinking and was seen lying in the road shortly before the accident in July.
While other cars slowed to avoid him, a dark-coloured saloon drove over him. Police say the driver, would have felt an impact, but may not be aware that he killed someone.
*An attack on a 58-year-old woman in a Bicester car park was also featured on the show. Marjorie Wallace, the founder of the schizophrenia charity, Sane, was attacked on Sunday, September 2 as she returned to her car outside Tesco's Pingle Drive store.
