Oxford United boss Mark Wright has conceded that he needs to get players out before he can bring any more in.

But he says he's only being realistic, and those players who are not regularly featuring in the team have to realise they might be better off elsewhere.

The U's boss, who signed Paul Moody for £150,000 from Millwall 12 days ago, said: "Yes, we're looking to bring people in, but I can only do that if I get certain people out, and it's becoming very hard for me to do that. If I get people out, there's three that I'd like to bring in immediately.

"As the manager, I've obviously got to balance things and I can't expect the chairman to keep bringing players in for me.

"We came to a decision that there's some people who aren't in the side, aren't doing a lot for us and are on big money, and we need to get them out, so we as a club can step forward.

"We're trying to be fair to the players who aren't playing. There's no point in them hanging around if I don't intend to use them.

"They've got to be realistic and realise if they want to play football, it's got to be elsewhere."
