Veteran midfielder Chris Fontaine rejoined Oxford City from Thame United last night and could make his return debut at Whyteleafe in Ryman League Division 1 this Saturday at 1pm.
The 35-year-old moved to Thame from City two years ago, but has now decided to return to Court Place Farm.
Lee said: "With all our injury problems and with having such a young side, Chris's experience will be invaluable."
City are also talking to Maidenhead's left-sided midfielder Paul Woodhouse, who was released by Brentford in the summer.
He had a run-out for City Reserves in a 2-1 friendly win over Abingdon Town Reserves last night. Lee Hewlett and Danny Wise netting for City, with Roger Charles replying.
Meanwhile, City defender Chris Organ is likely to be out of action for months rather than weeks after complications with the injuries he suffered in a recent car crash.
Organ, who underwent an operation on a broken eye socket and broken nose, was expected to be back in a couple of weeks. But surgeons have told him he needs another operation on his nose.
Organ was one of three City players involved in a crash on the A420 near Faringdon. Shaun Wimble and Nick McCrae were also injured.
Lee said: "It's still not right. He is still getting double vision and it's a bit concerning. He has to go for another scan."
Meanwhile, Andy Smith, Wimble, Michael Thorp and Mark Druce are fit again, while McCrae (concussion) could return in two weeks.
