Mark Wright has called for patience from his players, and from the fans, as his Oxford United team take on the third division's form team, Plymouth Argyle, at The Kassam Stadium on Saturday (1pm).
The U's, unbeaten in three, face a stern examination of their recent improvement when they take on a Plymouth side unbeaten in eight matches.
Argyle manager Paul Sturrock was this week named Division 3 manager of the month for guiding his team to five wins and two draws from seven matches during September.
And Wright says he is well aware that the Devon side will be hard to break down.
"We know Plymouth is going to be very difficult. They are unbeaten in eight - won five, drawn three, I think it is.
"We know they're going to be strong and organised, and the fans are going to have to be patient. Plymouth often play 4-5-1 away from home, so appear to come looking for a point, but they've got two quick wingers who can hit you.
"But we know it's what we do that matters and I'll be reminding our players of that."
Wright is expected to name the same side that drew 1-1 at Bristol Rovers last Saturday, though he may want to change the bench with Paul Tait, Jamie Brooks and Chris Hackett now in strong contention for substitutes' places, while Rob Folland has a toe injury.
