OXFORD City Stars take on a team who are set to be one of their main rivals for a top position in the English National Ice Hockey League when they face Chelmsford Chieftains tomorrow at Oxpens Road (5.45).
Chieftains have played in the Premier League for the last few seasons, but this year they have elected to play in the National League and have already beaten champions Basingstoke Buffalo.
The Stars are likely to be at full strength with the return of Alex Eberhardt and Steven Cameron.
A number of under 19 players may also be added to Oxford's squad.
The 13-0 win at Flintshire last week has boosted their confidence, particularly as Oxford did not have a full-strength squad.
Chelmsford are also on form, coming off a good win against Bracknell.
Last week, both Matt Cameron and Kris Abbott turned down requests to play for England Under 20s against Invicta to play for Stars.
However, call-ups for the national age group squads may start to cause problems.
Oxford are still looking to strengthen the team further and at least one new player could be signed before next Saturday's home game against Flintshire.
Oxford City Stars: from M Cameron, C Roberts, Ferry, Donohoe, Cox, Haigh, Taylor, Clifford, Roberts, S Cameron, Burden, Wyatt, J Cameron, Abbott, Eberhardt, Flint, M Roberts, Lay.
OXFORD City Under 12s drew 2-2 with Streatham, Richard Penhale and Josh Oliver scoring their goals). Today sees Oxford City Under 14s playing Gosport (4.30), while the Under 16s take on the Isle of Wight (6.00).
