A man whose wife went missing after failing to collect their son from nursery believes that she is safe and well.
Noreen Mehmood, 45, vanished from her house in Faulkner Street, St Ebbe's, Oxford, last Tuesday after saying she was going to pick-up three-year-old Sheraz.
Her husband, Asad Mehmood, called the police but on Sunday night said that the couple had argued before she disappeared and he received a postcard from her on Saturday.
Mr Mehmood, 32, a self-employed taxi driver, would not reveal the contents of the handwritten message but said: "I'm confident that she is safe and she will contact us soon."
He said his wife did not give any explanation but she wrote that she had no intention of coming home immediately.
Mr Mehmood said the row was the most likely cause of her disappearance and added: "If she is angry she could have discussed it with me.
"Sheraz is upset about it and misses his mother. He wakes up crying in the morning.
"I'm sure she will have a bit of a think, cool down, then come home."
Police are still investigating the case and anyone with information is asked to contact 01865 266333.
