Mark Wright believes his Oxford United team are in a false position - and it's only a matter of time before they start climbing up the third division table.

Speaking after the U's 1-1 draw with in-form Plymouth Argyle at The Kassam Stadium on Saturday, a result which kept his team in 13th position, Wright said: "We're not in a true position, but as soon as we start taking our chances, we'll start climbing."

In what was a fine advert for Division 3, with both teams playing an accurate passing game, United took the lead through a Paul Moody penalty 16 minutes from time, only for their former striker Nicky Banger to equalise just 90 seconds after coming off the bench.

The draw extended Oxford's unbeaten run to four matches, though three of those have been draws.

Plymouth, still unbeaten away from home, have now gone nine games without defeat.

But this was another match Wright's men should have won. They squandered four great chances.

"I thought we played well again, we were solid," said the United boss. "They had a couple of bits and pieces of pressure. We had, apart from the penalty, three or four good goalscoring chances and we've got to take them."
