Sunday's Oxford Stars match at Basingstoke Buffalo was abandoned after a hole was discovered in the ice.
The ice seemed poor but playable after it was resurfaced before the start, Stars going ahead through Gray Wyatt.
Buffalo went 2-1 up before Stars drew level with Wyatt's second.
With the ice deteriorating in the Oxford goal area, they conceded three quick goals in the second period and despite further resurfacing before the final period, the referee decided to abandon the match on the grounds of safety when a hole in the ice was discovered.
**Stars scorers: G Wyatt 2+0, S Cameron 0+1, A Eberhardt 0+1, A Cox 0+1.
