Stand by for flying champagne corks and balloons galore as JT/Fox Oxford Cheetahs receive the Sky Sports Elite League trophy at Oxford Stadium on Friday (October 19).

Sponsors Sky are organising the presentation for the first time and special guest is sports presenter Kirsty Gallacher, who will make the presentations after the meeting against Coventry.

Cheetahs' promoter Vanessa Purchase is expecting a big crowd topping the season's best of around 2,300.

She said: "Coventry always bring a decent crowd with them and I am hoping the Oxford public will turn out in force for what will be a great night for sure. There will be a big party atmosphere and we are going to release hundreds of yellow and purple balloons.

"The boys will want to win this one even though they have already clinched the title. Steve and I have made a lot of people happy by building a team capable of lifting the title, so let's hope we get the best turn-out of the season."

Protective sheets are on stand-by to cover the track, should the heavens open and that, coupled with a water pump courtesy of M&J Hire, plus copious bags of sawdust, should ensure the meeting goes ahead.

If the worst happens and the meeting cannot take place, Sky will still be filming the presentation and all fans will be allowed in free.

There will a special souvenir programme on sale, costing £2.50.

Meanwhile, the annual end-of-season dinner-dance is being held at the Stadium on Sunday, October 28. Tickets, priced at £25 are available on Friday night from Eileen Aston or Vanessa Purchase.
