OXFORD'S greyhound owners and trainers have received an early Christmas box with the news that prizemoney is to be increased from January 1.
It's the second increase since the Greyhound Racing Association took over in 1998 when Oxford Stadium was in receivership.
The new scale will see grades A1 down to A6 receiving £15 per run instead of the the old scale of A1 (£15), A2-A4 (£12), and A5-A6 (£10).
On top of this, trainers will also receive an increase in their bonus payments.
Racing operations manager Gary Baiden said: "I am pleased that the owners and trainers have been rewarded for their support of Oxford Stadium and I am looking forward to 2002 to continue the improvement.
"Owners under Northern Sports went many years without reward and it is good to see the GRA doing something to redress the balance."
