Thame Utd 3, Yeading 4
THAME United almost rescued something out of the Ryman League Division 1 game, but it was Yeading that finally took their three points in a seven-goal thriller at Windmill Stadium.
With just eight minutes left on the clock, Thame trailed 3-0, but three goals in two minutes looked to have earned the home side an unlikely point.
That was until Yeading's Dwane Lee popped up two minutes from time to ruin Thame's brave fightback.
Yeading took the lead after 15 minutes through Matt Miller's volley. Wayne Cort and Mick Swaysland both had goalbound shots deflected wide for Thame with the latter having a shot well saved by Matt Hodson.
A minute after the break, Cort had a header cleared off the line by before Miller saw his shot well saved by Alan Foster.
On 53 minutes, Swaysland's powerful drive was parried by Hodson but just as Nando Perna looked certain to score, he was denied by a great tackle by Keith Newby.
Three minutes later, Yeading increased their lead through Stephen Griffiths.
James Saulsbury and substitute Mark West both fired good efforts just over the bar, with Mark Jones having a freekick tipped over the bar by Hodson.
On 79 minutes, Bobby Behzadi scored from the spot after Foster was adjudged to have committed a foul in the area.
Chris Potter, Swaysland and West all scored to make it 3-3 before Yeading's late winner.
**Thame Utd: Foster, Saulsbury, Avery, Brown (Potter 45), Lee, Jones, Perna (West 70), Cort, Smith, Swaysland. Sub not used: Bradley.
