An evening of hilarious observations, story-telling and poems is promised when popular broadcaster, Pam Ayres, puts on a solo performance in Oxford.
The Stanford in the Vale schoolgirl turned radio and TV star will be appearing at The Dragon School in Bardwell Road, north Oxford, on Friday to raise funds for the Sobell House Hospice Charity.
The all-in ticket price of £15 includes the chance to meet and talk with Pam over a glass of wine at a reception held after the performance.
The Rotary Club of Oxford North, which earlier this year used its successful Workout 2001 to raise£10,000 for the hospice charity's 'Raise the Roof' campaign, organised the event.
Sobell House has now launched its 'Fresh Food Appeal' to provide catering facilities for the new hospice, and to give a boost to the fresh round of fundraising, Pam Ayres is giving her services free.
The Dragon School is making no charge for the use of its facilities, and Sainsbury has donated a voucher to help with the purchase of wine for the reception.
Tickets for the evening are available from the charity phoneline on 01865 883339, or Roy Hardwick, the club's vice-president, on 01865 374628.
