WOLVERCOTE got back to winning ways with a 4-2 win over Mansfield Road in the Premier Division, writes GEOFF BOWER.
As well as the three points, it also avenged a defeat earlier in the season by the visitors. Carl Smith, Stuart Matthews, Steven Gray and John McMahon were all on target.
Star Royal suffered another blow in their bid to retain their title after a 4-1 defeat by Morris Motors.
Despite playing their former Oxford City striker Steve Jenkins in goal, Star should have had enough class on display to win, but Motors outfought them for a deserved win.
Stuart Parsons latched onto a poor back-pass to open the scoring for Motors after 20 minutes, with Nathan Foley increasing their lead.
Jason Maciak pulled one back for Star, before Foley scored his second. Junior Ashley added Motors' fourth when Star faile to clear their lines.
In Division 1, Cowley Social Club fought back from a goal down to beat Marsh Harrier 3-1.
Starting with only ten men, Cowley went a goal down before the break.
In the second-half, two goals from Gary Wiggins gave a full-strength Cowley the lead, before Matthew Bowden sealed victory for the home side.
An indifferent display from Northway saw them settle for a 2-2 draw at Star Wanderers Res in Division 1.
Matt Long gave Star an early lead and Northway were lucky not to be further behind as Star dominated the first half.
But Northway continued to battle and two quick strikes from top goalscorer Karl Gray looked to have given them victory.
Star were not to be denied, but with only five minutes remaining, Rob Watson cracked home a long-range effort to secure them a share of the spoils.
Arncott continued their improvement with a 5-2 win over The Letting Shop.
Simon O'Connor opened the scoring for Arncott before captain Derek Moore found the net when a punt from near the half-way line sailed over the keeper's head to increase Arncott's lead.
O'Connor scored his side's second, and third, before centre-back back Lewis Smith, who was pushed up front, turned two defenders to net Arncott's fourth.
They then conceded two sloppy goals before Paul Anderson tucked away their fifth to sew up all three points.
Woodchip Wanderers took another scalp by defeating a below-par Roebuck 4-2.
It was a poor showing from Roebuck, apart from goalkeeper Richard Bull, who pulled off a series of exceptional saves.
Phil Nolan grabbed a brace, with Andy Thomas and Chris Beechey also on target. Chopper Harris and Craig Carter scored for Roebuck.
Nelson continued to impress in Division 4, fighting back from a goal down to beat Carrier Arms 5-2.
After going 1-0 down, Nelson levelled through captain Liam O'Callaghan's long-range effort, with Steven Walsh and Michael Herbert adding to Carrier's misery.
Goalkeeper Darren Kinch then lashed home a penalty, before Walsh notched his second, taking his tally to nine goals in five games as Nelson ran riot.
Jamii saw off Prince of Wales with a 6-1 roasting in Division 5 with goals from Donald Menga (2), Pete Mbugua,Teddy Ngoma and Mila Nbua. Michael Tran netted Prince's consolation goal.
