Hide and survive was the theme of half-term activity at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.
About 150 children took part in workshops teaching them about insects and animals which use camouflage in their coats and skin to help them survive in the wild, ranging from foxes to stick insects.
Pictured, above, is Elizabeth Lord, who enjoyed meeting a Madagascan hissing cockroaches, among other insects at the museum.
The harmless breed of cockroaches uses its brown colour to hide among leaves and under logs. It also hisses to ward off predators it encounters.
