Something has got to give when Oxford Harlequins take on Grove in a Southern Counties North top-of-the-table battle at Horspath Road today (Saturday).
Both teams boast 100 per cent records, with Quins leading the way on points difference. There's little doubt that one of these teams will be promoted at the end of the season.
Quins director of coaching Matt Maudsley said: "We're really excited about the game, so we can test ourselves against a team who have similar results to ourselves."
Maudsley is suffering from the recurrence of an old knee injury, and is out of action at the moment.
"That's not my main concern, which is to focus on setting up a structure that will enable us to achieve our ultimate aim of reaching the National League, however long it takes."
With an average age of 23, Grove, who have a doubt about the fitness of lock Rob Weaving are the best young side in the county. "We'll be there or thereabouts this season," said diector of coaching John Gunter.
"If we get promotion, we've got the potential to sustain a push into South West 2."
Steve Wood, the former Chipping Norton hooker, is the oldest at 32, while 6ft 9in lock Mike Turner, a former colleague of Maudsley at Henley, is still only in his mid-twenties.
Chinnor will be without their talented South African fly half Louw Kruger at home to Stroud in South West 1.
Kruger suffered a rib injury in last week's outstanding 44-10 win at Maidenhead, and is replaced by Dave Cook.
Experienced prop Phil New, who signed on for Chinnor this week, will not be considered for selection until after a few training sessions.
Banbury, one off the bottom in Midlands 1, make two changes for the match at home to Kidderminster. Simon Purnell comes in at stand-off for the unavailable Perrin Gill and Simon Brown returns at hooker.
Henley Hawks scrum half Ben Ayres has been selected for the National Divisions' squad to play Australia at Leicester on Sunday (2.30). Henley's Tony Macarthur is the manager of the team.
Hawks' National League 1 game away to Exeter Chief has been postponed, as the Chiefs have four players in the squad.
