Power tools worth more than £5,000 have been recovered by police following a raid on a house in south Oxfordshire.
The seizurefollows a spate of burglaries and break-ins to vans in the Abingdon area this month. Nearly a dozen incidents were reported in Abingdon, Wootton and villages in the surrounding area.
Expensive drills, cutting equipment and a wide range of power tools have been stolen from vans. In most cases the vans were parked outside homes in driveways or streets overnight.
Police urged people to remove equipment or lock their vehicles in garages or park in well-lit areas to discourage thieves.
A police spokesman said: "We have recovered more than 20 power tools and want to trace the owners.
"Anyone who has lost equipment should get in touch to see if they can identify the tools."
The tools can be seen at Abingdon police station. Call 01235 556883 for more details.
