A Bicester man is hoping to raise money for the children of Afghanistan with a Christmas charity song.
Bala Moddia, of Medina Gardens, Bicester, co-wrote Shine the Star for Bethelem with his childhood friend, William Helan, who lives in France.
The pair enlisted the help of 60 children from Buckingham Secondary School, in Buckingham.
The single was expected to be recorded on Wednesday (October 31) at Audio Lab studios, in West Street, Buckingham.
The group, Afghan Children Aid, have sent demo tapes of the song to record companies and are hoping for Christmas chart success.
Mr Moddia, a PHD student at Birmingham university, said: "Everybody has worked really hard. It's a great song about children and what they are going through in this world."
