The arrival of the recent rains has sent a lot of our rivers bank-high and the colour of tea.
Let's hope that we do not have a repeat of last year's severe flooding which put the mockers on the last two months of the coarse season.
It has always been thought that the time to fish a river in flood is when it's running off, but other anglers think this is not always the case.
I think that a rising river is better because there's a lot of natural food coming down and fish need to replace the energy they are using.
Once the river starts to fall, they do not burn up so much energy, so need less food. Also, by then, they have had their fill.
With flood warnings on several rivers around the country, it would be nice to see the Environment Agnecy out clearing trees to help the water to get away.
I gather there are two large trees down on the Thame at Wheatley - which were reported to the EA nine weeks ago.
