The first match in the Green Road Social Club Winter League series had to be transferred to the reserve venue of the Oxford Canal as the Cherwell was bank-high.
There were nine teams of five competing and in first place was Alan Steele (Team MC) with two good chub for 6lb plus some perch that gave him a winning weight of 10lb 14oz. All fish fell to chopped worm on the pole.
Martin Robinson (Dagmar) was second with 7lb 2oz of roach and perch on punch and chopped worm, and teammate Gary Pether was third with 6lb 9oz of small chub caught on the worm and pole.
Team result: 1 Dagmar 34pts, 2= Fat Boy & Waltonians 32, 3 Nortac 29.
