Rotarians tucked into an Italian lunch on Thursday to raise sponsorship for a schoolgirl's education in South Africa.
Members of the Inner Wheel Club of Sinodun paid £10 to enjoy Mediterranean fare at Benson Parish Hall, and watch a pasta-making demonstration by the Berkshire branch chairman of the International Wine and Food Society, Pat Curtis.
Proceeds from the lunch will help fund a second year of schooling for 13-year-old Alicia at Rustenberg High School for Girls in Cape Town, South Africa.
Inner Wheel president Yvonne Harris said: "We linked up with other Rotarians in Cape Town following a study exchange that we hosted last year. We decided to sponsor a South African girl who could not afford a high school education. This is the second year that we have supported Alicia. She wants to be a psychologist."
The private schooling costs £700 a year.
