An Oxford college dinner was halted when a piece of scaffolding was hurled through a window.
Students at St John's College were attending a communion dinner in St Giles when the vandals struck.
No-one inside the building was injured, but the meal was delayed while the police were called.
Anthony Boyce, the college bursar, said it was fortunate that no-one was injured in the incident.
He added: "The police are investigating and there's nothing more to say at the moment."
