Councillors in west Oxfordshire are calling for an investigation into increased traffic caused by major new developments.
The investigation has been triggered by Freeland and Hanborough district councillor Gareth Epps.
The council's scrutiny committee will look at the implications on minor roads caused by developments such as Madley Park on the north east of Witney. The investigation follows representations by campaigners in the two villages.
Cllr Epps said: "This is an excellent example of local people taking action over an issue affecting their quality of life.
"It was noticeable how many other councillors of all parties mentioned similar issues in their wards."
