A song written as a birthday gift for a man who died of cancer is to go on sale to raise funds for the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Singer and song-writer Mark Crozer, 30, of Crotch Crescent, New Marston, Oxford, wrote This Is All I Have for his father, Bob, when he was being treated for the disease.
Bob, also of Crotch Crescent, was treated in ward 5E of the hospital for Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system.
Despite extensive treatment he died in July this year, aged 52.
To support the ward where his father died, Mark is releasing This Is All I Have on CD for the 5Eize The Day appeal, set up by former patients, their families and medical staff to raise more than £200,000 for patient care.
Ward 5E is recognised as a leading centre for treating blood and bone marrow cancers.
Mark said: "The song was a birthday present for my father. I wanted to give him something that would be special for him, and now I want it to be special for ward 5E.
"A lot of basic costs are met by the NHS, but ward 5E wants to go beyond the basics, as it always has.
"If my CD could help the appeal along, it would be one of the best ways my father could be remembered."
The 5Eize The Day CD, including This Is All I Have and two other tracks, goes on sale in local shops this week.
Priced £3, it can also be bought directly from the fund by calling 0709 202 8640.
