RFU Intermediate Cup
OXFORD Harlequins twice came from behind to beat Amersham and Chiltern 19-9 at Horspath Road and reach the last 64.
This was a notable scalp for Quins, as Chiltern play in a higher division, and is an indication of the progress Matt Maudsley's team are making.
The visitors twice took the lead with penalties, but Quins, trying to play an expansive game, responded each time with tries.
Their first came in the 15th minute, when, from a line-out in the Chiltern 22, an excellent drive by the Quins forwards ended with No 8 Paul Nye touching down.
With Rob Dow and Chris Price doing well in the line-out, Quins were calling the tune, but squandered several scoring opportunities.
In the second half, Chiltern went ahead 6-5, but Quins again hit back. Good play from forwards and backs saw the ball recycled six times before scrum half Anthony Cope shot around the blind side, beating the last two defenders to go under the posts for a brilliant try.
Dan Urriza-Rodriguez converted to make the score 12-6.
Ten minutes later, Quins sealed the game. Fly half Urriza-Rodriguez started the move inside the home 22 and finished it off in spectacular style, following vital contributions from centres Nigel Hill and Mike Swadling. Urriza-Rodriguez converted.
Chiltern kicked a further penalty, but the game finished with Quins on the attack.
