An articulated lorry today crashed into scaffolding in the centre of Watlington today (Tuesday).
Scaffolding outside Traveltime, in the High Street, fell on a parked X-reg BMW, damaging the roof and windscreen. The lorry's second trailer caught scaffolding jutting out and brought it crashing down.
Gwen Abram, 71, who works at the Co-op, said: "We heard this crash and a clatter and when we came out the scaffolding was down. The driver was clear."
Westbound traffic was diverted via Hill Road and eastbound traffic via High Street. Pc Paul Coleman, of Abingdon Traffic Police, said the B4009 was due to re-open by mid-morning.
The lorry was en route from Leeds to Watlington Industrial Estate to collect recycling material.
