A man has been ordered to undergo psychiatric tests after admitting taking indecent photographs of children.
Paul Evans, 29, of Kelham Hall Drive, Wheatley, was charged with 30 counts of taking indecent pictures.
At Oxford Crown Court yesterday Judge David Morton Jack adjourned the case for psychiatric reports at Oxford's Littlemore Hospital.
Nikki Duncan, defending said: "This is a serious matter where a custodial sentence is an outcome.
"Mr Evans is a man of good character but there is a risk of him re-offending and going one step further towards participation.
"On his behalf I ask for him to have a psychiatric report. There is a high risk of re-offending."
Judge Morton Jack told Evans: "Notoriously this type of thing escalates. You ask the court for a further adjournment so a qualified psychiatrist can report on you.
"You shall have an opportunity, not just in the interest of justice to yourself but justice to the public.
"Your type of offending is one that is apt to get worse unless checked and it is important to get to the bottom of whatever problem you have so that you can be helped."
He was given bail until November 26.
