Oxford City Stars Steven Cameron and Simon Ferry were sent off as trouble flared at the end of Saturday's stormy 5-0 win over Slough Hawks in English League Division 1.
It all started so well for Stars, who took the opportunity to give youngsters Alex Parris and Ben Kossick their debut, with Kris Abbot scoring two minutes in after good work from James Cameron.
Oxford extended their lead on eight minutes when Simon Ferry struck home, before they lost James Roberts to an ankle injury.
Derek Flint and Gregy Wyatt added a goal each. It also gave 17-year-old Ben White his first point for Stars for an assist, as was Ade Haigh.
The third period became increasingly tense with the referee failing to penalise fouls by Slough.
Oxford capitalised on some powerplay with Abbott finishing off a move involving Flint and Paul Donohoe.
With just 11 seconds to go Slough's Adrian Wheeler and Ferry were sent off for fighting, while Steven Cameron also got his marching orders.
Amy Johnson became the first female player in this league with her first shut-out for the Stars, turning aside 22 shots.
**Scorers: K Abbot 2+1, D Flint 1+1, S Ferry 1+0, G Wyatt 1+0, A Haigh 0+1, B White 0+1, J Cameron 0+1, P Donohoe 0+1, PIMs 74.
