A hat-trick of tries from winger Charlie Oyebade helped Chinnor to a hard-earned 44-14 victory away to Southern Counties South side Oakmeadians in Bournemouth.
Indeed, it was not until the final quarter that Chinnor pulled away to record a decisive win.
Their cause was not helped when James Borgnis suffered a dead leg and had to leave the field after barely five minutes.
A rolling maul a few minutes later resulted in a try for fly half Dave Cook, who added a penalty.
Chinnor suffered a further injury blow when John Vaughan pulled a hamstring when vainly trying to prevent a converted try for Oak- meadians.
Darren Oxley went into the unaccustomed position at scrum half, with Ben Thompson coming on at outside centre.
Tries by Oyebade and Oxley helped Chinnor to an 18-7 interval lead.
Oakmeadians cut Chinnor's lead to four points with a converted try before Oyebade steadied the nerves by claiming two more tries, with Thompson converting one.
It was now all Chinnor, and with Paul Hennessy replacing Michael Bailey and Garrick Kimber on for Rob Harris, it was no surprise when Alan Cawston came up from full back to go over, with Thompson adding the extra points.
A penalty try completed the scoring.
