Samuel Becket's Waiting for Godot heads the line-up of plays for next year being staged by Thame Players.

The programme also includes a new home-grown musical by Robert Duncan. In the past he has written musicals for the Thame group on the life of Leonardo da Vinci and one based on the board game Cluedo.

His new offering, Rainland, has songs by another member, Molly Paynter, and will be produced by him in July.

Major redevelopment work on the Players' Theatre in Nelson Street is expected to start this year, which may mean two plays being staged in other venues.

Waiting for Godot will be on stage in March, Brian Friel's Living Quarters in May, Agatha Christie's A Murder Is Announced in October and the Christmas panto will be Dick Whittington.
