Young artists are working together to deliver a message of hope.
Pupils at schools in Headington are collaborating on a community arts project, which will lead to the creation of a new picnic area. Youngsters from 12 schools are crafting their own clay tiles, all on the theme of 'hope'.
Designs from the tiles -- which include candles and doves -- will be cast in concrete and used to form a leisure area in Bury Knowle Park.
The £4,000 project is being supervised by the schools' artist in residence Diana Bell.
Project co-ordinator Lindsey Weimers, headteacher of Windmill First School, said: "We chose the theme before September 11, but it has become very pertinent now."
