Morrells Oxford Sunday League round-up
BARTON United's fortunes took a turn for the better as they came back from a goal down to beat Riverside 7-1 in Division 2, writes GEOFF BOWER.
Kevin Castle put Riverside ahead before Barton hit back with a hat-trick from Mark Williams, and other goals from Darren Claire, Lee Almond, Steve Bateman and Ryan Whitney.
Star Wanderers Res crashed 3-1 at home to AFC Sporting Launton. Matt Long scored their consolation.
In Division 3, Woodchip Wanderers made it four wins on the trot with a 5-0 victory at Morris Motors Res.
Debutant Mike Greenall hit a second successive hat-trick, with Phil Nolan and Ashley netting the others.
Roebuck had a day to forget as they lost 3-2 to Chase Finance Res. To make matters worse, Mark Mossop dislocated a shoulder in the first five minutes while their manager was sent off in the last minute.
Mark Mews and Daniel Tomkins made it 2-0 before Darren Barber levelled twice for Roebuck. With only minutes remaining, Bert Barry snatched the winner.
Arncott left last week's problems behind them to secure a 2-2 draw in a physical game at Chalgrove.
Nick Smith gave them the lead, which was increased by Paul Anderson, who cut in from the right to convert a long throw from Smith.
But they missed numerous chances and were made to pay for their profligacy when Chalgrove hit back to earn a share of the points.
