Henley MP Boris Johnson's bid to find out what it's like being an old lady using Oxfordshire's Buses has got off to a stuttering start.
In his incarnation as "Doris" the Spectator editor has made a number of attempts to board local public transport.
And he says he has had major problems.
He said: "Mindful of the difficulties of my constituents, I am trying to rely on local buses.
"I was determined to go from Henley to Watlington for Sunday lunch at The Chequers.
"I got to the bus stop around 11.30am -- just to allow myself plenty of time.
"But I discovered there are no buses whatsoever to Watlington. And there are no buses to virtually anywhere else!
"I am now absorbing the full magnitude of the problems facing some of my constituents."
Mr Johnson has promised to reveal further episodes of Oxfordshire's own answer to the successful TV comedy series On the Buses soon.
