Renault has launched a limited edition of the Scenic RX4 called the Salomon.

The £17,700 vehicle developed in partnership with makers of outdoor sports equipment Salomon is available with both the 140 horsepower 2.0 16V petrol and 105 horsepower 1.9dCi diesel engines.

Based on the mid-range Privilge version, the vehicle is equipped with a number of exclusive features, including special 'Blizzard' 16-inch alloy wheels - designed to resemble a snowflake - boot-mounted spare wheel, large side body protection mouldings, and two side badges and Salomon logo on the bootlid.

The Scenic RX4 Salomon is available in three colours - Platinum, Dune and Glacier Blue - a new colour introduced for the Salomon special edition.

But it's on the inside that the Salomon limited edition stands out from its RX4 brethren. Alcantara and canvas upholstery and perforated leather trim on the steering wheel create a more sporty feel in the cabin along with the control knobs for the electric windows, door mirrors, and seat adjustment handles, which are finished in soft-touch satin copper-orange.

The door handles are aluminium-coloured, while the dials feature orange figuring on a black background. Mirroring Salomon's range of back-packs, storage pouches and can holders made of canvas and netting are attached to the rear of the front seats - replacing the picnic tables from the standard RX4 - and the limited edition package also includes a Scnic RX4 Salomon-badged back-pack specially developed by Salomon, together with a bespoke boot-liner protecting the luggage area from the sharp edges of equipment such as skis and snowboards.

This RX4 also retains Scnic's versatility with three folding removable rear seats, all with head restraints, storage under rear seats and in the rear footwells, and bottle holders behind the outer rear seats There is height and lumbar adjustment on the driver's seat and a height-adjustable steering wheel.
