Seventy firefighters worked through the night to tackle a fire at a manor house on New Year's Eve.
Fire crews were called to the blaze at Hill House, Souldern Road, between Souldern and Somerton, near Banbury, just before 9pm.
Fire crews used water supplies from a swimming pool in the grounds of the property and the fire service's water carrier.
The flames affected a fifth of the roof and attic area of the detached two- and three-storey manor house.
Crews manged to confine the fire to the attic and protect the rest of the building and its contents from damage.
Fire engines from stations in Deddington, Hook Norton, Kidlington and Brackley joined two from Banbury and two from Bicester to tackle the fire.
The hydraulic platform and incident support unit from Rewley Road, Oxford, and the water carrier from Slade Park, Oxford, were both used. Kidlington's rescue tender, Woodstock's control unit, and Wheatley's hose layer were also drafted in.
The occupants had evacuated the property before the fire service arrived at the scene.
