An 81-year-old woman had her shoulder dislocated by a treenager who mugged her.
The woman was robbed as she walked down an alley between Rosehill and Hillsborough Roads, Oxford, at about 4.20pm on Friday.
She was approached from behind and pushed to the ground. The pensioner also suffered a cut ear and severe bruising during the attack.
The youth stole a black leather handbag and made off in the direction of Rosehill Road.
The woman was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Headington, Oxford.
Police made house-to-house enquiries and are now searching for a white youth about 14 years old.
He was slightly built and was wearing dark trousers and a woollen hat pulled low over his forehead.
Anyone who may have found the bag or seen the offender should call Oxford police on 01865 266333.
