A project to get people walking to improve their fitness and health has won an £18,000 grant from South Oxfordshire District Council.
The money, £6,000 a year for three years, will help pay a part-time co-ordinator of walks for South West Oxfordshire NHS Primary Care Trust.
The Walking for Fitness project was launched with programmes in Sonning Common and Goring and was followed by a scheme in Benson.
The co-ordinator will look after existing walks and set up new schemes.
Dean Wilkinson, the council's sports development manager, said: "The programme soon showed the benefits of regular exercise and proved a success with residents."
