Oxford City 3, Whyteleafe 2
City made hard work of picking up three more Ryman Division 1 points against hard-working Whyteleafe but there was no doubting they deserved their victory.
Once again, their two youngsters on loan from Oxford United, Jorden Holder and Kelvin McIntosh, played a major role, with Holder notching two more goals.
On an excellent surface, City started well and went a goal up in only the fourth minute.
McIntosh broke from halfway to set up Holder, who curled his shot across keeper Rose from 15 yards into the far corner.
City were on top early on and on the half hour, Mark Druce found McIntosh whose shot from close range was kept out by Rose's legs.
John Mitchell had a header saved but after Stuart Nelson had seen his first action of the game in saving from Kimber, Arkwright met the resulting corner to head a 40th minute equaliser for the visitors.
Straight from the restart, Mitchell beat Rose to a through ball only to strike the outside of a post after rounding the keeper.
City were back in front in the 54th minute when a low cross from Shaun Wimble to the near post was crashed home by Michael Thorp.
Two minutes later Whyteleafe levelled. City gave the ball away on the edge of their area and Tanner shot powerfully past Nelson.
The home side's response was immediate. Garland cleared off the line from Wimble and then Rose brilliantly turned away a header from Mitchell.
With 15 minutes left, Rose saved at full stretch from Julian Dark, who had started the move in his own area, but the keeper was helpless with seven minutes left.
Wimble found Holder, who cut in to chip perfectly into the path of McIntosh and his half-volley did the rest.
Oxford City: Nelson, Farley, Dark, smith, Thorp (Whitehead 60), Woodhouse, Holder, McIntosh, Mitchell (Wise 74), Druce (Fountaine 60), Wimble.
